Why should I use a Pawsitively Purrfect sitter?
Your pet will remain in his or her familiar, secure environment and follow his or her customary diet and exercise routine. Your pet is not exposed to illness of other animals. Most importantly, your pet receives lots of love and personal attention while you are away. Our sitters have been certified in Pet CPR and Pet First Aid. Our sitters are completely backed by one of our other sitters in cases of emergency, illness or sitter vacations.
Pawsitively Purrfect sitters are employees who have passed a background check and are under the bonding and liability insurance. We are loving, dependable and trustworthy!
What do you do on a visit?
We tailor each visit to the pet’s individual requirements and needs. Our pet sitting visits include:
- Feeding per your instructions
- Fresh water
- Walks for dogs
- Love & play time
- Litter box scooped
- Bird cage cleaned
- Medication administration, if needed
- Mail and newspaper retrieved
- Plants watered
- Lights/blinds rotated
Do you always visit on the time we ask for?
We book your visits within a time frame and will arrive during that scheduled time frame. If time is critical, please let us know.
If my pet has an accident, do you clean it up?
Yes, we will clean up after your pets to the best of our ability. If there are continued accidents, we will ask you to book an additional visit during the day. We will do a walk through in the areas that we have permission to access inside of your home to check for accidents.
What information do I need to provide at the initial consultation?
Prior to the consultation, you will need to fill out your profile & new client forms completely. We will then have all the information we need, allowing us to spend the consultation time getting to know you and your pets. To get started, please contact us and we will then start your confidential profile and set up your complimentary consultation.
Do I always have to give you two keys?
We always ask for two keys so the sitter can have one while the other is kept in a locked file cabinet at the office, in case of emergencies. Most clients do provide two keys. Remember, we are bonded and insured. If you want to avoid key pick-up and drop off charges, we can provide you with a lock box during the consultation. During the consultation we will come up with a plan as to where the lock box will be placed and, at that time, put your key in it. The cost for this program is $18.
Do you charge for the initial consultation?
The initial consultation is FREE, as long as you book services at the time you book your consultation. We prefer to have the initial consultation within 3 weeks of your services beginning. If we have to arrange a second meeting prior to service, a normal pet sitting visit fee of $19 will apply.
May I give my pet sitter / dog walker a gratuity?
Absolutely! We much prefer you to leave cash for your sitter at your home and leave a note so they are aware it is for them. Gift cards are also a great idea and appreciated. You may add a gratuity to your bill, if you wish.
What kind of animals do you care for?
We care for most animals, as long as they don’t pose a danger to our pet sitters. We do not care for any animals that have a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people.
May I book my visits through my pet sitter directly?
No, please contact the office for bookings and cancellations. All visits must be booked through our online booking system or by texting/calling (281) 627-1838. You may also email us at pawsitivelypurrfect@yahoo.com. Your visits will NOT be covered under our liability insurance if bookings are not done through Pawsitively Purrfect.
Please also note your sitter is not responsible for giving credits when cancelling visits. You may notify your sitter of cancelled visits as a courtesy, however all cancellations must be brought to the attention of the office to receive credit for unused visits or walks.
What hours do you provide services?
Pet sitting and dog walking visits are generally between the hours of 7:30am to 9:30pm. Other times can be arranged.
Overnight visits are available from 7:00pm to 8:30am.
Our office hours are 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday through Friday.
Can I be guaranteed the same pet sitter each time?
We prefer to have the continuity of the same pet sitter each time. However, if the sitter is not available, then a fully informed substitute sitter will be available for back up. If we have advanced notice of service, we will schedule a time for you to meet your substitute sitter.
Do you offer any sort of satisfaction guarantee?
You want to know that your pets will be cared for just the way you specify. We will guarantee it every time! If you are not 100% satisfied with the service that was provided, we will be happy to address your concerns. We believe in lasting client relationships, so our service is only complete when you return home and are completely satisfied.
How much notice is needed to book services?
You should contact us as soon as you have made plans so we can put you on the schedule. Two weeks is always enough time for us to schedule your initial consultation before your service. However, we can work with less time available as well. Once you are an existing client, we can usually work with you on very short notice.
If I have something come up last minute, can you provide service?
We will always try to help you on short notice, but we cannot guarantee availability if there is very little time before your service begins. A late booking fee of $15 will apply when less than 24 hours advance notice is given. We regularly book up completely at major holidays and end up turning away last minute callers.
I am leaving in two days and do not have time to meet one of your sitters. Will you take care of my pets without meeting them?
No, we do require an initial consultation before taking care of your pets.
What happens in severe weather?
Pawsitively Purrfect requests the name and phone number of a person living nearby. If the Pawsitively Purrfect pet care provider is physically unable to reach your home due to impassable roads, we will contact that person. Your pets’ health and well-being is our utmost concern and we will contact you as soon as possible to keep you informed of these events. This is pertaining to snow, hurricanes, and severe storms.
Can you let me know how my pet is doing while I am away?
Yes, text and/or email updates are included with each visit!
Do you charge a holiday fee?
There is a holiday fee of $10 per day on the following holidays:
- New Year’s Eve
- New Year’s Day
- Easter

There is a $5 per day charge for the weekend (if the holiday falls on a Friday or Saturday) for these following major holidays:
- Easter

- New Year’s Day
This is a way for us to reward our pet sitters who are giving up their holiday time.
Are you insured and bonded?
Yes, we carry liability insurance and all sitters are bonded through Pet Sitter Associates.
Our sitters are also employees vs independent contractors. This is a very big difference when you choose us! All sitters are screened & must pass a background check prior to employment.
Do you board pets?
We do not board pets in our homes. We do provide daily visits for your pets or we can stay overnight as well.
We will customize a schedule to fit your pet’s needs. Your pets will be much happier in their own home, completely stress free!
I have never used an overnight pet sitter before; can you tell me a little bit about this service?
We offer an overnight visit from 7:00pm to 8:30am. Overnight visits give you peace of mind of knowing that your home is being looked after, as well as your pets receiving lots of extra attention. If your pets are used to sleeping in your bed with you, we are happy to have them sleep in the bed with us, too! Midday visits are often added on for a potty break or walk during daytime hours.
How is payment handled?
We accept check, PayPal, Chase QuickPay, and Pop Money. Payment is due once services are rendered. We ask that payment be left for the first visit or sent prior to visits beginning.
If a check does not clear, there will be a $25 fee added to your balance.
Will I receive a refund if I leave later than expected or return early?
No, please understand that we have made time for your visits and may have turned other people down to allow time for your pets. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

What is your cancellation policy?
In order to best serve your needs, the cancellation policy is as follows:
Daily walks must be cancelled by 8:00am the morning of the scheduled walk. As long as you cancel by 8:00am the same day before we arrive and we are NOT already on our way, you will not be charged. If we arrive and the visit has not been cancelled, you will be charged.
Pet sitting and overnight services must be cancelled 48 hours prior to service start date in order to avoid the $25 cancellation fee.
What happens if I did not leave enough food for my pet(s)?
We will notify you that there is not enough food so that you are aware and perhaps you have more food in another location in your home. If we need to make a special trip to purchase food, we will be glad to do so. There will be a $20 trip charge plus the cost of the food. If an extra trip to your home is needed for an extra visit to feed your pets, an additional visit fee will be applied.
How will I get my key back if I move or discontinue services?
We will be glad to mail your keys upon your request if you have kept your keys on file with us. There will be a $5 fee to mail the keys. If you need the keys to be dropped off, we can arrange that as well and a $15 trip charge will apply.
